The two day International seminar on the topic “Creative Urdu Literature in Jammu-o-Kashmir & Bangladesh” was organized by department of urdu, University of Jammu. The program was presided over by Prof. Suchita Pathania Dean Faculty of Arts While Prof. Nayeem Anees from Calcutta was Chief Guest. Prof.Mohd Reyaz Ahmad HOD Urdu, University of Jammu was also present in the presidium. In his inaugural address Prof. Nayeem Anees threw light on the sweetness of urdu language as well as its poetry and prose. He described Urdu an Indian Language which has played important role in uniting the India and has contributed a lot in the freedom struggle of India. The language has been grown by the efforts of the poets and writer irrespective of Caste, Colour and Creed. He also said Urdu is a inte-national and 3rd largest speaking language of the world. Prof. Nayeem Anees further said that Urdu language can play a vital role to bring peace in the sub-continent particularly between India and Pakistan. The language is spoken largely in the world even in America and Chicago. Urdu is flourish day by day said Prof. Nayeem Anees. Prof. Sucheta Pathania Dean faculty of Arts University of Jammu described Urdu is a sweet language. He said that to relate Urdu with a particular religion is not true. Urdu language has a rich culture and civilization and has united India from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari. She further said that department of Urdu is one of the biggest department of university of Jammu and is doing a new man service for the promotion of Urdu language and literature in the Urdu world. Prof. Qudoos Javed, Former HOD Urdu Kashmir University too described India is the land of poets, artist and prose writers. He particularly discusses the contribution of Writers of Jammu Kashmir in the promotion of Urdu language and literature. He further said that language without literature is meaningless it was J&K poets who made Urdu literarily rich and produced fine piece of poetry as well as prose. Earlier in his welcome address Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed, HOD Urdu described about creative urdu literature in Jammu o Kashmir and Bangladesh and also welcomed the guests and audience. Dr Chaman Lal, Assistant Professor of the department of Urdu ably conducted the proceeding of the two day inter-national seminar and Dr. Farhat Shamim Assistant Professor Urdu presented vote of thanks, among others Dr. Abdul Rashid Manhas, Aseer Kishtwari, Dr.Premi Romani (Pune Maharashtar), Prof.Zafar Ahmad (Bangladesh),Dr.Mohd Naseer ud Din (Bangladesh), Dr.Mohd Shahid ul Islam (Banladesh), Mohsina Akhter (Bangladesh), Ahmed Imtiaz (Delhi University), Dr.Shafi Ayoob (JNU), Dr.Altaf Anjum (Kashmir University), Dr.Liaqat Ali (IGNOU Delhi), Dr. Abdul Qayoom, Dr Mehmood Raza, Dr.Ajaz, Dr.Javed Shah and others were also attended the seminar. Beside It was attended by large number of students, scholars, college teachers, faculty members and civil society members.
