JAMMU// The Research scholars and students of the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu visited to the J&K Dharmarth Trust Shri Raghunath Temple Library, Jammu. The educational tour was organized under the supervision of Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed, HOD Department of Urdu, Jummu University. During the visit, the Research Scholars and students examined books written in Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Persian, Brahmi, Sarada, Ladakhi etc. Especially books and manuscripts of Vedic Sanskrit such as Rig Veda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, Atharvaveda, Upanishadas, Puranas, Shrimad Bhagwat Gita, Ashth Adhyaya, Rajatarangni etc. are worth mentioning. Meanwhile, librarians and other staff provided detailed information about old books and manuscripts to Research scholars and students. The scholars and students also took pictures of the said manuscripts for the purpose of research references. In addition to this, the Research scholars and students visited to the Shri Raghunath Temple and also interacted with the devotees. The HOD Department of Urdu thanked the librarian and other staff of the library for providing information related to books, manuscripts and scripts etc. Dr. Chaman Lal, Dr. Abdul Rashid Manhas, Dr. Farhat Shamim, Dr. Abdul Qayoom, Dr. Raza Mahmood, Dr. Javaid Ahmed Shah, Dr. Ajaz and about Thirty Research scholars and students were also accompanied on the visit.
