The department of Urdu, University of Jammu today added another feather to its cap by organizing a Book Release function in the jam-packed hall jointly with Qasmi Kutuab Khana , Jammu . Mr. Ayaz Rasool Nazki shall preside over the function while Jb Danish Rana , ADGP J&K UT was Chief Guest on the occasion. While Jb Sohail Kazmi was the Guets of Honour . The Book Prof. Qudus Javeed Former HOD Urdu Kashmir University titled “Adab Ke Memar (Jammu, Kashmir aur Ladakh) Vol.1 and Autobiography of Khalid Hussain titled “Main Zinda Admi Hun” was released on the occasion. The presidium was also shared by Prof. Qudus Javeed, Former HOD Urdu Kashmir University, Jb Khalid Hussain, Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed . The Shatiya Academy awardees Mr. Aseer Kishtwari and JB Khalid Hussain was honoured by the department of urdu by presenting them Shawl a mark on Honour.
In his presidential address Jb Danish Rana congratulated the authors for bringing out the books on the vital topic. Jb Rana said that the autobiography written by Khalid Hussain in one of the most interesting and informative one. He described that the autobiography covers all the aspects of his life. Jb Rana also appreciates the book titled “Adab Ke Memar (Jammu, Kashmir aur Ladakh) Vol.1 written by Prof. Qudus Javed. Jb Danish too congratulated Mr. Asser Kishtwari and Jb Khalid Hussian for their Shahtiya Academy Award. He said the function is one of the most impressive one and highlighted qualities of the head and heart HOD Urdu Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed.
In his key note address Prof. Qudus Javeed Highlighted the qualities of “Adab Ke Memar (Jammu, Kashmir aur Ladakh) Vol.1, and in brief explain the importance and role of Jammu, Kashmir aur Ladakh in the development of Urdu language and literature. In his book he covers all the literary field of Jammu, Kashmir aur Ladakh. The autobiography “Main Zinda Admi Hun” written by Jb Khalid Hussain shows the ups and down of the life.
In his welcome address Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmad, HOD Urdu University of Jammu congratulated Prof. Qudus Javed and Jb Khalid Hussain for their books. Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed also appreciated the books and their role for the development of Urdu language and literature. He also welcomed all the guests who attended the book release function. Prof. Reyaz also congratulated Mr. Asser Kishtwari and Jb Khalid Hussain for their Shahtiya Academy Award and said that their role for the promotion go Urdu language and literature could not forgetted.
In his speech Jb Sohail Kazmi was congratulated the authors for their valuable books and also shahtiaya Academy awardees. He said that Urdu department, University of Jammu is one of the most vibrant department of Urdu world. The literary and academic activities organized by the department are the need of hour. He also appreciated the journalism workshop which was organized by the department and said that the Budding journalist a lot from the said workshop and offered his full support of HOD Urdu Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed and congratulated HOD Urdu for organizing a book release function in which two books of two Urdu legends were released.
The Book “Adab Ke Memar (Jammu, Kashmir aur Ladakh) Vol.1written by Prof. Qudus Javed was published by Qasmi Kutab Khana whereas, “Main Zinda Admi Hun” written by Jb Khalid Hussain was published by published by Qasmi Kutab Khana.
Besides students, scholars, faculty members and civil society members also attending the lecture.
