Two day International seminar was organized on the topic 'Relevance of Hali in the Present Era’

The two day International seminar which was organized by the department of Urdu, University of Jammu was concluded today by organizing the valedictory function which was presided over by Prof. M.A. Wani and Mr. Khalid Hussain noted Punjabi Short Story writer. Prof. R.D. Sharma, vice Chancellor of Jammu University was the Chief Guest in the valedictory function. Speakers described the International seminar on the subject ‘Relevance of Hali in the Present Era’ a most successful. They highly appreciated the key note address of Dr. Taki Abdi from Canada, who at length described various dimensions of Hali in the Present Era. The speakers said that these types of Program promote National Integration and Communal Harmony.

Prof. R.D. Sharma in his address congratulated the department of Urdu for organizing a International seminar on a vital issue. He described Urdu a language which has united the India from Kanya Kumari. He said that Urdu is the official language of the state and University of Jammu doing possible efforts to promote the language.

Prof. M.A. Wani and Mr. Khalid Hussain also highlighted the role of hali in Building the National Integration and Communal Harmony.

Earlier the three academic sessions papers were presented by the reputed scholars of National and from outside the country. They include Dr Wafa Yazdan from Iran, Dr. Nazia Morecitious, Dr. Taki Abdi from Canada , Dr. Arfa Bushra from Srinagar, Dr Reyaz Ahmed and Dr Asaf Malik from Jammu, Prof. Naseer Naqvi from Punjab University Patiala, Dr. Ragbat Shamim from Culcutta, Dr Ashaq Hussain from Central University Kashmir, Dr. A.R. Manhas and Dr. Farhat Shamim and others.
These sessions were presided over by Prof. Khawaja Ekram from JNU, Prof. Anwar Pasha from JNU, Prof. Naseer Naqvi from Patiala, Mr. Aseer Kishtwar and Mr. Mansoor Banhali.

The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Head of department of Urdu, University of Jammu.
