Jammu 8 October 2018: The department of Urdu, University of Jammu is going to organize two day international seminar in collaboration with State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages on the topic “Composite culture in Urdu Literature” on 24th and 25th of November 2018.The seminar is being organized in connection with the golden jublee celebrations of the Jammu University.
This was disclosed by Dean faculty of Arts and HOD Urdu Jammu University Prof.Shohab Inayat Malik here today in a press statement. He informed that International Seminar will be inaugurated by Prof.M.K.Dhar Vice Chancellor Jammu University while Director NCPUL New Delhi Dr.Aqeel Ahmed shall be the guest of honour. World renowned Urdu Scholar from Canada Dr.Taqi Abdi will present the key note address of the seminar. Near about twenty scholars within and outside the country will attend the Mega event and present the paper on the various aspects of the topic. They include Prof.Sahib Ali & Dr.Ragib Deshmukh from Maharashtra Dr.Mueed Javed from Hyderabad. Prof.Khwaja Ekram-ud-din and Dr.Kazim from New Delhi, Prof.Aslam Jamshed puri, Prof.Aftab Afaqi and Prof.Azmi , Abbas Raza Nayar from U.P, Dr. Shahab Ansari from Jharkhand, Dr.Mushtaq Hyder, Dr.altaf Anjum and dr.Irfan Alam from Kashmir besides local writers and Poets. Prof. Shohab further said that the paper which would be presented in the seminar would be later published in a book form so that new generation could be benefited as Urdu writers has written a lot on the composite culture which is the need of hour also.
Prof.Shohab further said that during the seminar various Urdu books written by different Urdu writers would be also released. Besides Dr.Taqi Abdi would be presented “Rasa Javedani Memorial Literature Award” for his contribution to Urdu language & literature. An Urdu Mushaira and a Sham-E-Ghazal would be also organized on the occasion.
