Jammu 08 May,2017 :The department of Urdu, University of Jammu today organized a Book Release function in the Prof. Gian Chand Jain seminar hall of the department of Urdu in which three books were released by Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Prof.R.D.Sharma. The two book one critical book and other the collections of short stories written by Prof. Sageer Afraheim and another critical book written on the life and works of Sageer Afraheim of Aligarh Muslim University by Dr Muzafer Iqbal were released. The book release function was presided over by noted Urdu and Kashmiri writer Basheer Bhaderwahi while noted historian of the state Aseer Kishtwari grace the occasion as Guest of Honour. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik and Dr. Mohd Reyaz Ahmed also shared the presidium.
While speaking on the occasion Prof. R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Jammu University lauded the efforts of Urdu department for the promotion of Urdu language. He congratulated fifty two research scholars of the Urdu department who got selected as Assistant Professors in Higher Education department and Scholl education department. This shows that department is vibrant one. He inform that Jammu University is the first university in the country which is providing free and the quality educations to the students. He also inform that the University of Jammu is 63rd position on ranking wise. It is A+ University and is producing students and scholars of high caliber. He congratulated Prof. sager Afraheim for writting two important books and choosing Jammu University to release these books. Prof. R.D. Sharma further said that Aligarh Muslim University was establish by Sir Sayed Ahmed khan and it is one of the best universities of the world which had produced present urdu scholars like Sageer Afraheim. He also discussed the contribution of Sir Sayeed Ahmed Khan for establishing this primer institution.
Basheer Bhaderwahi while speaking on the occasion describe Urdu department an vibrant one which is frequently organizing the literary activities. It has connected the Civil Society Members with the University. He describes Sageer Afraheim a towering writer of the country which has authored more than two dozens of books. His short stories which were written for radio projected the realities of life. He is expert on Prem Chand added Basheer Bhaderwahi.
Aseer Kishtwari too described the books of Sageer Afraheim a great contribution to Urdu language and literature. He also threw light on the works and contribution of Aligarh Muslim University for promotion of Urdu while tracing the history of Kishtwar. Aseer Kishtwari congratulated the Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik for making Kishtwar Campus as well as department of Urdu literary vibrant. He too threw light on thebook written by Dr Muzafer Iqbal on the life and works of Sageer Afraheim and described the book a valuable one.
Earlier in his welcome address Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik introduce Prof. Sageer Afraheim to the audience. He informed that Sageer Afraheim is the author of more than two dozens of books. He is associated with various committees of Aligarh Muslim University . He is the editor-in-chief of tehzeb-ul-Akhlaq a literary and research journal which was started by Sir Syeed Ahmed khan. Prof. Shohab further inform that sager Afraheim is also a good organizer. He in Aligarh frequently organzies literary activities. He is expert on Prem Chand also. Prof. Shohab informed that during his Ph. D consulted the book of Sageer Afraheim to complete his Ph. D thesis. The valuable book are still their relevance added Prof. Shohab.
on this occasion Prof. sager Afraheim were also honoured by presenting a Shwal and a memento. He was honored by Prof. R.D. Sharma , Vice Chancellor of Jammu University. The proceeding of the program was conducted ably by Dr Mohd Reyaz Ahmed, Associate Professor of the department while Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas presented the vote of thanks. DR Chaman Lal, Prof. Zia-ud-Din, Dr Farhat Shamim, Dr Ajaz Hussain Shah and Dr Shahbaz were also present on the occasion. Besides students, scholars and civil society members also attended the book release function.
